Growing in Rural Alberta Symposium
Palliser Economic Partnership just released a summary of the work that was done at the 2010 conference held in November.
At the 2010 Growing Rural Alberta Symposium, participants were guided through a process to develop key focus areas and strategic actions needed to create the preferred future for the Palliser Region.
There were a variety of engaging speakers and presentations. The outcome of this sumposium was an action plan developed by conference participants.
Key Focus Areas for the Palliser Region
The participants at the 2010 Growing Rural Alberta Symposium created a list of four key focus areas that represented the most critical action areas to undertake as a region over the next 3-5 years to develop the capacities necessary to move the region towards the preferred future.
1. Create an Entrepreneurial Culture and Business Support Systems
2. Develop and Promote an Optimistic Regional Mindset
3. Leverage Technology and Build Communication Infrastructure
4. Create a Youth Oriented Region Through Engagement and Leadership Development
